November 11th 7.30pm 2009. It is with regret that I have to announce that our loyal member and inspiration to all shooters One Armed Bill Wilson aka Peter Lightbody passed away at 7.30pm today. His wife has asked that we inform all of his shooting friends. "Bill you showed us how it should be done...Thankyou."
One Armed Bill Wilson's funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday 18th. November 2009, at the Heritage Chapel, Bruce Hwy Crematorium Maryborough. Cowboy Dress is appropriate.

SHOOT TIMES : First and Fourth Sunday of every month 9 am. "The Last Frontier" 765 Anderleigh Road, Gunalda, turn off the Bruce Highway to the right into Anderleigh Road 28 kilometers north of Gympie, "The Last Frontier" is 7.65 kilometers on your left.

The Last Frontier will now hold Pat Garrett scenarios at least once a month during the standard five stages. Make sure you bring your big rifle and ammo 'cause you never know when you just might need it. National Rules and bullet velocities apply.

May I suggest that for those Non Members that have taken offence to the new range fees. Please read the following again and get it right this time and in particular read the Visiting Shooters line. 
The Last Frontier Shooting Range is looking for Membership Support to keep the current Range Fees to a minimum, therefore it has new incentives for Members of The Last Frontier Shooting Club Inc.
There will be no increase in Range Fees for their Members. Still $10.00 per day. 
Visiting Shooters for the first three shoots that they attend in any one year $10.00 per day.
They then have the choice of either joining the Club or becoming Regular Monthly Non-Member Shooters Range Fees $15.00 per day.or Range Fees to Non-Member Shooters not shooting monthly $20.00 per day.  
Visiting Ex Last Frontier Members, for these Visitors $20.00 Range Fee per day will apply unless they have notified previously their intention with a genuine change of address.

Founders of Cowboy Action in Australia : Have you ever wondered how and by whom and when did Cowboy Action get started in Australia ?
Western Action as it was first called was started by Jesse James and Zeralda James in the early 1990's in South Australia. 
This is How did they do it ? 
Jesse and Zeralda firstly made up a couple of make shift facades and each weekend they loaded them into their vehicle, put on their cowboy clothes and off they went to different clubs to demonstrate how Western Action was to be played. 
This introduction of a new shooting sport brought about quite a bit of rejection and hostility by some Clubs/Organisations and shooting disciplines that thought Western Action should not be promoted. It was not how a shooting sport should be.
Yes there were threats and abuse, hideous phone messages from those that tried to stop the introduction of this great sport we now have the privilege of competing in.. However Jesse and Zeralda persisted and over time the new shooting sport grew to what it is today.
Thankyou Jesse James and Zeralda James for giving us Cowboy Action in Australia we will continue to "Keep the Spirit of the Game" alive here at "The Last Frontier" shooting range.

Or from Maryborough drive south down the Bruce Highway 60 kilometres to Gunalda turn left into Anderleigh Road 7.65 kilometres. The Last Frontier is on the left.

NEXT COWBOY ACTION SHOOT: at The Last Frontier is on the first and fourth Sunday's of each month Starting BANG on 9 am. SEE Ya there...
The matches will be shot over 5 Stages and set up to equal any State, National or International Competitions. Members Range Fee $10.00. Visiting shooters for the first three times $10.00 per day. Regular Non Members Range Fee $15.00. Other Non-Members not shooting monthly $20.00 per day.
